An unknown penman has well said: “The true greatness of any church is not how many it seats but how many it sends!” Indeed, a core characteristic of Christianity is what is commonly called “missions.” Tragically, however, that term has been greatly misunderstood, misapplied, and even misinterpreted. So, what are biblical “missions”? In this burdened article, we consider four principles: the biblical model, historical examples, modern deviation, and a new call to biblical “missions” (the quotes will be explained in the article).
