I cannot express how profoundly and powerfully Nehemiah 8 strikes me every time I read it. Here we encounter one of the most notable and dramatic biblical examples first of God’s people expressing their desire for God’s Word and second the critical importance of biblical exposition. We see here four realities that were true of God’s people then and that should be true of us today.
