Among several biblical examples of God’s people demonstrating their love and desire for God’s Word, the scene in Nehemiah 8 is one of the most notable and dramatic. They: recognized the sacredness of the Word (v. 1); realized the seriousness of the Word (vv. 3-8); remembered the security of the Word (vv. 9-12); renewed their submission to the Word (vv. 14-18).
